The New Year is here, and with it comes that familiar wave of resolutions. For some, it’s about eating healthier, hitting the gym more, or finally starting that novel they swore they’d write. But for CSW students, the most common New Year’s resolution is simple: LOCKING IN for the second semester. Whether you’re aiming to crush those AP exams, survive midterms with a shred of dignity, or just make it through a Satalino pop quiz without a total meltdown, it’s time to get serious.
Now, for freshmen, the second semester will probably still be a walk in the park. You might be freaking out about your ISS project or health class. But let’s be real: you’ve had it decently easy until now. Keep pushing.
For the rest of us, the second semester is when the real work begins.
- Sophomores: You may be diving headfirst into a few AP exams, along with a science fair that’ll make you question every life choice you’ve ever made. And don’t forget the horror that is an entry level Biology final. Get ready for your first taste of the grind.
- Juniors: You’ve signed up for way too many APs, and now you’re balancing unit exams, projects, and the slow realization that college prep is, in fact, a thing you need to do. And yeah, you’re still updating your resume like it’s a full-time job. Fun times.
- Seniors: Senioritis is real. You’re near the finish line, but college apps, AP exams, and life after CSW are all slowly suffocating your will to live. But hey, just keep breathing, because you’re almost there.
At the end of the day, the second semester at CSW is all about locking in, because, let’s face it, you’re either going to rise to the challenge, or you’re going to learn some tough lessons along the way. So, put down the distractions, delete TikTok (and/or Instagram; I know many of you enjoy Reels), and dive in. You’ve got this. Probably. May your coffee be strong, your study hall Wi-Fi even stronger, and may your New Year’s resolutions last at least until February.
